City of Torrance Positions on November 4th Ballot Measures

Upon reviewing the 12 State and 48 Los Angeles County measures included in the November 4th ballot, the Torrance City Council took positions on five measures that met the City's criteria for legislative review.  Criteria include how measures affect local control, impact the City fiscally and affect public safety.

After reviewing background material, discussing issues with staff, departments and the public, the City's Ad Hoc Legislative Committee voted on each measure and recommended their positions to the City Council.  At the regularly-scheduled City Council meeting of October 7, 2008, the City Council took the positions listed below.  Click here for information on the state measures and click here for information on the L.A. County and the local measures.
