HIRETORRANCE.COM to benefit Torrance Employers and Job Seekers

The Pacific Gateway Workforce Investment Network announced the newly upgraded HIRETORRANCE.com portal, which combines technology with "real people" resources, assisting Torrance businesses and job seekers during these tough economic times.  "Three months ago, I introduced legislation to create a new and innovative search engine for Torrance businesses and local job seekers.  Today, I am proud to announce the launch of HIRETORRANCE.com," said First District Councilmember Robert Garcia.

With one click, job seekers can pull job listings from more than 50 regional & national job listing boards - including Monster.com, CareerBuilder.com, & HotJobs.com.  The collective resources of the Network's career counseling and skills development assistance are at same site.  Torrance employers can simply go to HIRETORRANCE.com and review resumes or skill listings without even posting a job order.

"I am proud of this project and the joint efforts between the City of Torrance and the Pacific Gateway Workforce Investment Network.  This website will help thousands of Torrance residents and businesses, and brings the city one step closer to becoming a leader in technology," said Councilmember Garcia.
