TORRANCE, Calif., Wednesday, June 2, 2010 - The City of Torrance's Transit Department, known as "Torrance Transit", marks its 70th Anniversary this year.  To mark this milestone, Torrance Transit renews its ongoing commitment to provide the best bus service in the South Bay area by "going green".  The Department celebrated with the introduction of a dramatic new look and new hybrid buses in a public ceremony on Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at the Torrance Cultural Arts Center.  Torrance Transit's new gasoline electric hybrid buses will start servicing passengers in June 2010.  The City of Torrance encourages the community to take a ride and check them out!
